Apply for a Building Permit

Now accepting Building Permit Application(s) on Cloudpermit!
The following permits need to be applied through Building:
  • All Fire Permits
  • Sign Permits
  • Wireless Communication Facilities 
  • Civil/Site Development
  • Backflow
*Cloudpermit is not compatible to apply for permits on a cell phone. Please use a laptop, tablet, or PC.


The City of DuPont now uses a cloud-based software Cloudpermit to complete Building Permit applications and schedule inspections all online.

  • Please Note: We are not currently accepting online payments at this time. Payments must be submitted in person or by mail. We accept credit cards and checks.
  • Important: Payments are not accepted on Fridays, as City Hall is closed.
  • City Hall Hours
    • Monday-Thursday, 9:00-4:00pm
  • Apply for building permits any time online
  • Check status of your building permit or building inspections.
  • When application status changes, you will automatically get notified (via email)
  • Make changes, schedule, cancel building permit or inspections
  • Communicate with us using the online messaging tool

*If you would like to access an existing open and active permit and you have not already created a Cloudpermit account, please follow the 'Cloud Permit' link above to create an account.  We will need to invite you to your permit workspace. Please email us or call (253) 912-5217 and let us know you are ready for access. Provide the permit number, site address, or name where the work is being done will be required.

ALL INSPECTION REQUESTS ARE REQUIRED TO GO THROUGH CLOUDPERMIT

  • Inspection occur MONDAY-THURSDAY between the hours of 7:00am-2:00pm

How do I pay for my permit?
We are not currently accepting online payments at this time. Payments must be submitted in person or by mail - we accept credit cards and checks.

How do I apply for a building permit? 
Access our "Online Permit Portal" by clicking on the link above. It will take you to the 'New User' Login and you will be able to create an account and apply for building permits.
Why can't I apply for a Planning application on CloudPermit?
We are working extra hard to make all applications available on our online permit portal. Please refer to the "All Permit Applications" tab and use the fillable forms. Email the applications and attachments to PermitTech@dupontwa.gov.
How do I apply for a Planning application?
All Planning Applications are currently fillable forms located under the "All Permit Applications" Tab. Please use the fillable forms and email them to PermitTech@dupontwa.gov.
